"Everything was okay, but I do feel like I was being lied to for the sake of a commission. I was quoted a specific price on line and had to call in in order to to complete it. I gave the agent the exact policy I wanted, the one I was quoted online for $370 a month and I was then told by this agent that I could not get that price. She stated that it was actually $425 a month because the price online was with a homeowners discount or something like that. Somehow the next day the policy went down to $401 a month. I found that extremely odd and asked why it went down. The agent could not give me a straight answer. She also began to tell me that my policy included a life insurance policy and a hospital benefit and all this crap, called the premium package. I explained to her that I did not care for it and she then said that without it I would be paying $400 a month but with the package I would be paying $401 , making the package only $1 extra. I then again found that extremely weird so I went ahead and called a different State Farm all together and gave them the exact coverage i was being quoted for at this State Farm. The agent at that new State Farm gave me the online price that I wanted($370) and said that if I wanted all the extras it would be $401. So basically the agent at this place flat out lied about how much that “premium package” costs in order to get what I would assume is a commission check. Spent about a total of 2 hours over 2 days going back and forth with this agent. The other place I called had me signed up in 20 minutes with the coverage I wanted at the price I wanted. Moral of the story, you don’t have to sign up for the life insurance/premium package. Don’t let them upsell you on stuff you don’t need."
